Created by a group of women who fell in love with Siargao back in 2016, Sinag now grew into a family and community in and out of the Island.
We first opened the hostel in 2018, to create a space where travelers feel the warmth of home. We intentionally designed Sinag Hostel like a traditional Filipino family house, carrying our culture of caring and sharing. The common areas, spontaneous experiences, shared stories & meals were the foundation of Sinag for genuine connection. Many of our guests arrive for a few nights and end up staying longer.

Surviving the pandemic and Typhoon Odette, we decided to continue our mission as we start connecting people through our love for surfing. The first wave of Sinag Surf Club, our surf school, started in June 2023. Since then, we’ve been welcoming students from around the world, who go home stoked, with new found friends and confidence to surf wherever there are waves.

Romanticizing the slow mornings on the island, we built Sinag Snack Bar just in front of Sinag Hostel, to welcome people along the road with warm smiles, good coffee, and nourishing food. Since July 2024, people often come back for that connection and our simple, nourishing, and satiating meals that feel like dining at home.
